Each of the teams selected for the tournament will be sold for $100 ($105 for payment by credit card – SEE LINK BELOW). ALL ENTRIES ARE DUE BY 5:00 PM March 17th.

A random drawing for teams will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18 at Deerfield Bank & Trust in Deerfield. The tournament begins March 19 with play-in games and ends April 8.

The link at the bottom of this form allows payment by credit card ($5 service fee).

After the Brackets are created, each player will receive a team from the random drawing. (Assigned teams and brackets will be emailed to you.)

On game day, each team will be assigned a point spread using that morning’s Chicago Tribune (or Fox Sports, if the Tribune is unavailable). No whole numbers will be used, 1/2 point will be added to any whole number point spread (8 will be 8 1⁄2, 22 will be 22 1⁄2 ......). If your team is the favorite and covers the point spread, you keep the team
and move onto the next round. If your team is the underdog and loses by less than the
point spread, you capture the winning team and move on to the next round.

Deerfield Rotary Coat Off Your Back

Temperatures are dropping and for most of us-grabbing a jacket to wear is as simple as opening the closet. Imagine coming to the Midwest for the first time, after leaving your home with nothing…and then having to face a Chicago freeze.

It Takes A Village…or two or three!

Rotary Club of Deerfield's annual “Coat Off Your Back” drive is being joined this year by the Glenview Sunrise Club, Glenview Club, Northbrook Club and Two Men and A Truck to expand the reach as the need grows.

“Refugees are settling in the Midwest during our most challenging season, but we are ready to help!” says event chair Rick Rosenfeld of Glenview Sunrise Rotary, echoed by Sandy Frum, president of the Rotary Club of Northbrook and Deerfield Club President Kent Street.

The goal is to make sure that local refugees settling organizations such as Women and Children and Homeless – Connections for the Homeless; PADS of Lake County; Wings; North Shore Helpers; Veterans – The Veterans Closet; Refugees – Refugee One; World Relief; HIAS; ECC; Stock the Shelves; Deerfield Free Store have a great supply to distribute to all ages.

This drive is collecting new or like-new Winter coats for infants, children, teens, and adults they serve.

“So many of us annually sort through and buy updated coats, jackets, and other winter outerwear. This year – as you go through your previous season winterwear - consider donating to Coat Off Your Back! Our teams of volunteers are processing them immediately to get them in the hands of families now.

We encourage you to purchase new items to donate as well.”

The Coat Off Your Back drive will begin on November 1^st and runs through December 15^th

Chair Rick Rosenfeld, who is a local business owner of Journey Softly, and Rotarian, has put together a team and process that will coordinate the pickup the coats from drop-off sites, sort and size for distribution. Other businesses are getting involved to help as well.

Two Men and a Truck jumped in last year and are now a co-sponsor and transport lead. Owner Brian Stern says, “We are thrilled to be part of this important cause! Transportation is a key requirement for getting the hundreds of donations delivered to sorting centers, and then to the organizations who distribute them.”

Donation bins for the Rotary Clubs’ “Coat Off Your Back” drive can be found throughout the Village of Deerfield, Northbrook and Glenview at the following locations through December 15th:

Charity Golf Ball Drop

The Deerfield Rotary Club is excited to announce our annual Charity Golf Ball Drop on Wednesday,

September 13, 2023.

Held at Woodland Park in Deerfield, this annual event supports the many projects and non-profits supported by Deerfield Rotary Club.

Rotary Flags

The Club Banners are now on display at Patter Turner Center in Deerfield. These Rotary Flags symbolize international fellowship and friendship! Exchanging Rotary Flags is one of the colorful traditions of many Rotary clubs. Rotarians traveling to near and distant locations often take banners to exchange at "make-up" meetings as a token of friendship. Exchanging club banners is a very pleasant custom, especially when a creative and artistic banner tells an interesting store of community pride. The exchange of banners is a significant tradition of Rotary and serves as a tangible symbol of our international fellowship. Come check them out!

Club Banners

Ray Larson and Peter Fitzgerald hung several banners full of Rotary flags from around the world which our club has received as flag exchanges during visits, on the art wall of the Patty Turner Center. There are more than 40 countries and just about every U.S. state represented. Natalie Kirsch and Peter Fitzgerald discovered six of the banners three years ago in our storage locker, and decided to attach a bunch of loose flags to make two more banners. Mike Zengeler from the cleaners steamed the banners for Deerfield Rotary! Peter has contacted the Deerfield Historical Society, who may put up an auxiliary display, as our club is over 80 years old.

Shared Membership Program

We are excited to expand our Shared Membership Program. In November, we welcomed shared members from the Deerfield Public Library and Deerfield School District 109 (pictured right).
