Deerfield Rotary installs new officer

July began with a bang, not only because of the Fourth of July fireworks which followed our 47th annual road race, but also because we welcomed in our new slate of officers. 

 
Alan Nerad, then assistant district governor and now president of the Lincolnshire club, joined us for a special installation dinner where Janice Becker was officially installed as our club president along with her board of directors. Outgoing president Dorothy Collins thanked members of her board.

Dorothy thanked the following:

Deloris Axelrod-wonderful Club Service events; Barry Clark-Treasurer extraordinaire, who will continue for another year; Barbara Struthers-my “right hand gal” always ready to prompt me on important issues; Bill Napp-who put on not 1 but 2 excellent and most enjoyable fund raisers (NCAA March Madness and the Super Bowl competition); Carl Johnson-Who was always at the ready to step in for the Invocation; Arnie Grahl-without whom the Club would not have such a wonderful and informative newsletter; Barry Gray-who made a trip to Guatemala, for Rotary International, to help build a school and helped run the Rotary Race at the Deerfield 4th of July 10K race, Barry will make an excellent Club President in 2014-15; and, who could forget SUNSET FOODS AND PETER FITZGERALD-The wonderful contributors to our Club Service events.
